sparkly
Here's another recent scan... I shot it back in color class, but I never printed it- I only ever saw it on the 35mm contact sheet. I scanned it just to see it bigger than the little contact print, but then I kinda liked it. It's cross processed making the blues/cyans of the shadows a bit exaggerated.

view out my window
I was going looking through some images I shot with my point and shoot, and I found this. It's a couple years old, and I don't really know why I took it... it's the view out my bedroom window at my dad's house. Looking at it today, I don't know, there's something about it I like...

Baby Jamie
A couple more old images I scanned recently.
This is my niece Jamie when she was just a couple weeks old...
Aww, teeny little munchkin! :)

oldies
I shot these images a loooooong time ago. When I first got my Bronica.
It's currently broken, and I've been too lazy to get it fixed (and slightly afraid of the cost).
I scanned these not too long ago, and they make me miss shooting with it, so I've decided to suck it up and buy a new body for it...
I think the one of the stove is my favorite...

Garden Documentary Part 6
Not much going on in the garden today, but here's the inside of the shed, where my seeds have taken over...
Lots more Nemophila have sprouted...
Close-up of the Nemophila. It's not the sharpest, (I really need a real digital camera) but you can see that its fuzzy...

Garden Documentary Part 5
I bought some more seeds yesterday and I planted them this morning:
Hollyhocks, Dahlias, Peonies, Snapdragons and Thunbergia
My mum was a big fan of Dahlias, and my grandmother always had Peonies. The rest are because of the colors! (And the Thunbergia climbs, so I HAD to have those. I'm probably going to run out of things for all these flowers to climb on!)
Also, the California Poppies and the Snowball Marigolds sprouted!:

Garden Documentary Part 4
Planted some marigolds today! It was around 7pm before they made it in the ground, so the pictures aren't the greatest.
Since I already have some morning glories growing along the shed, I wanted to get the marigolds planted ASAP, since they help protect against unwanted nibblers in the garden. (A few years ago, a cute little bunny ate all the morning glories growing there.)
I put the marigolds as close to the morning glories as possible, so the little critters stay away!
Again, here are the marigolds standing guard!
And I put those white bricks in a couple years ago to keep the bunnies from sneaking up on the morning glories from under the shed...
Here are Fred & George! Sadly, Fred lost some toes over the winter...
I also bought some geraniums today. This Mary and the planters on either side, belonged to my grandmother- my dad's mom. She used to plant red geraniums in them, so I did too!
Also, the Nemophila sprouted!:

Garden Documentary Part 2
In addition to the usual three flower beds in the backyard, (one by the garage, one by the shed, and one along the back fence) I'm planning on giving the front yard a face lift this year. It's ambitious, I know. But I currently have some time on my hands.
Here's what I'm starting with:
This is the side of the garage where I've planted my morning glories for the past few years. I've left the past few years of them there for the new ones to climb on...
I plant the blue morning glories here because I LOVE blue flowers, and also blue morning glories were one of my mum's favorite flowers...
I usually cut back those out of control wild roses, but I didn't this year. We'll see how that goes...
I also grow some morning glories on the side of the shed, and in some of these clay pots as well.
The garage and shed gardens are all weeded and ready to go!
I planted the blue morning glories along the garage, and some red ones in a couple of these clay pots.
Every year by the shed, morning glories sprout up from seeds from last year's flowers. I never know what color(s) these will be. Usually hot pink or purple.
These sprouted up about a week or so ago. And more keep sprouting!
This is the space along the back fence. I haven't really done anything here in the past couple years (since I was living in Quincy...). The plan for this space is some wild flowers. I definitely have my work cut out for me here!
Here's the front yard. Not sure what exactly I'll do here.
We live in a duplex, but it's my uncle on the other side, so I get to give his side a face-lift too...
Thanks for looking! Stay tuned for Part 3!

munchkin feet
The other night when my nieces were here, I wanted to take some "through the viewfinder" Holga/digital pictures of them. Well, they turned out a little too snapshotty, but here's some of their feet that I liked.
Emily, the oldest, wanted me to take a picture of her feet, so I did, and then Catrina and Jamie, of course, wanted pictures of their feet too...

Emily- she had the best socks |
Catrina- this weakling couldn't hold her feet up |
Jamie- my littlest munchkin. She was distracted, so I got more than just her feet. |
my pretty kitchen
My kitchen in the apartment from hell sure was colorful!

Garden Documentary Part 1
I've decided to document my flowers this year. I've tried to do this before, but usually only end up with "pretty" pictures of the flowers, and nothing of the process. My plan is to start most of my flowers from seed this year. Here are all the seeds I started today:
Sweet Peas, Columbines, Nemophilas, Cyprus Vine, Black-Eyed Susan Vine, Portulaca, Snowball Marigolds, California Poppies, Chinese Lanterns, English Daisies
My grandmother had Sweet Peas and Chinese Lanterns in her yard. The lanterns are cool! They really do look like lanterns. The rest are just because I like the colors and I like flowers that are vines...
I hope they all sprout and grow! :)

More Holga TTV Experimenting
Got some flares on a few of these... I've worked to avoid the flares before, but I thought I'd try to go with them this time. Maybe they'll work better next time... If the red Holga leak can work, why not the flare?
Also, these must be the least colorful color photos I've ever taken!

I was having a bit of a blah day until I went out back to take some pictures. I love the look of the light when the sun sets against gray clouds...

moving and downsizing...
wow, I didn't think it had been this long since I posted something... but I guess I have a good reason... moving back home, and trying to get settled and organized is kinda time consuming...
also, I've decided to get rid of a lot of stuff. I've mentioned in a previous post that my mum used to tell me that I talk to the TV just like my grandfather did. Well, something else I got from him: I'm a bit of a pack rat. Talking to the TV I don't mind. But I decided I don't want to be a pack rat any more. So as I settle and organize, I have a pile of "selling/donating" items I keep adding too as well.
I've also just been plain lazy about setting up my computer to edit photos. It IS un-packed and just staring me in the face every day...
I guess the next thing I should do is dig out my external hard drive and find some photos to edit/post... and it's so gorgeous outside today, I should make some new ones. But before that, I'm off to Verizon to get a fun and fancy new phone. I promise to keep this one away from the bath tub...
so, more photos on the way, VERY soon. I promise! :)
