curtains and soup

Since I've been doing the through-the-viewfinder thing with my Holga and Coolpix, I've kinda been shooting everything...kinda like when I first got my Pentax K1000.  ANYthing that caught my eye would get photographed.

Lots of things have been catching my eye lately- even my soup the other night... I loved the colors, but it didn't really turn out the way I wanted it to.  Not sure what I think of it.  But here it is anyway:

Also, I think I might be a little in love with the colors in my (soon to be former) living room... here are a couple images to start with... more to come :)

spaceships!

I love these "spaceship" candies!
They're not my favorite, but for a while, it was such a challenge to find them, I'd always buy them when I could.  A couple years ago I found a candy store where you could buy big boxes of them.  Suddenly, they weren't as special anymore... I've had the last box I bought for about a year or so... if not longer.  The novelty has worn off I guess.

Anyway, I've continued with the Holga through the viewfinder experimenting, so here are some images of the spaceships!

less than two weeks!

In less than two weeks, I will no longer have to deal with the trash that lives in the apartment below me!  I'm so excited!  Aside from being excited, the game is on.  And then, I hope some lovely people with peg legs move in here in my place.  I just KNOW the jerks downstairs will LOVE that! ha!

Anyway, in continuing to experiment with my Holga and Nikon Coolpix, just shooting around the apartment, I realized I could sort of document and experiment at the same time.  Because as much as I dislike it here and want out, the apartment is super cute!  Anyway...

Here are the latest from my experimenting... All taken in my kitchen...

thanks for looking! :)

March 13th

Today is my mum's birthday.  She would have turned 57 today.
I miss her terribly, and I'm usually pretty sad on her birthday,
but I'm kind of okay today.
Maybe I'll make a cake later. :)

March 13th is a double whammy... my Uncle Dick passed away 2 years ago today.
I adored him and I miss him.

This is a picture I took of my mum and my uncle, a couple Thanksgivings before
my mum passed away.

I hope they're hanging out somewhere together...
:)

Holga TTV Experiment

The other day I came across some cool "through the viewfinder" images on RedBubble.  I remember hearing about this technique a while ago.  At the time, I didn't have a digital camera...
You need a digital camera and a vintage twin lens camera.  The image is composed with the twin lens, and then the viewfinder is photographed with the digital camera.
Anyway, while browsing through the images on RedBubble, I got the idea to try this with my Holga and my digital point and shoot (which is the only digital camera I own).

I don't think these qualify as true "through the viewfinder" images... but I still think they're kinda neat.  And even though I'm definitely a non-digital film girl, it WAS kinda cool to shoot with my Holga and see the results right away!

Here are the results of my experimenting the other day:

The Real Housewives of Late Night, Episode 2, parts 1 & 2

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is currently spoofing Lost, which is hilarious, but I have a feeling you may need watch Lost to understand all the subtle jokes, which make it so funny.

(Lost, by the way, was a bit "WTF???" last night if you ask me.  It was GOOD, but... I'm gonna have to watch it again...)

Anyway, Real Housewives of Late Night on the other hand, is soooo silly, even if you haven't seen any of the real Real Housewives shows.  Below is episode 2, in two parts.

I posted the first episode here back in January.  Check it out!!!

All the episodes are still on hulu...
