Finally set up my scanner last week... or was it the week before?
Anyway, I've been scanning some of my older stuff.
Below are two of my favorites...

more sunset photos

Here are a couple more old photos from the rolls of film I shot for one of my color classes. (a long time ago)
I don't think I ended up using either of these in the final project for the class, but looking at them now, I think I really like them...

self portrait

I came across this old self portrait earlier today, and it inspired me to do some new ones.  I don't think I'm ready to share the new ones yet, so until I am, I'll share the one that inspired them...

my blog is one year old!

I just realized that I started this blog exactly one year ago today, so I figured I should post something in honor of it.  Since I haven't shot anything new that I like enough to share, here are some old images from when I was shooting for my final color portfolio... I kinda like them... I think they're inspiring me a little bit...

I need to shoot some film!!!

I'm not really a digital photographer.  A few months ago, when I starting doing my Holga TTV stuff with my little Coolpix, it was the first time I created digital images that I really liked... I also really liked shooting with my Holga and seeing the pictures so quickly... But I'm really starting to miss shooting film.  In any camera.  I really gotta get my Bronica fixed, AND get a roll of film into the Holga!

For now, here's one of Trina from a couple years ago.  It's one of my favorites of her.  AND it was shot with film!!! :)

insomnia?

It's 7am, and I haven't been to sleep yet, which is awesome...

So I thought I'd find something to post here.  I came up with this image, which I had completely forgotten about til the other day.  I had scanned it a couple months ago during my scanning binge...  It's from Color Projects class, when I was shooting at sunset and cross-processing.  But I never used it for my portfolio- it didn't quite fit with the other images- and I only ever made a quick test print of it.  Anyways, I kinda like it...

Cassie

I used to babysit 2 little girls named Brittany and Cassie... The photography bug bit just before I started sitting for them and they quickly became my favorite little models.

A couple months ago when I went on a scanning binge, I scanned a bunch of old images of Cassie when she was just a munchkin... she's almost 21 now! Yikes!

I think this first one might be one of the first black and white images I ever made.  I went all out with the sheets as a back drop too!  Haha... And the dress she's wearing, that was my dress.  I called it the "Twirly Dress".  It's peach and lacey and twirly and I LOVED it.  (I still have it!)  I remember wanting to wear it all the time, but funnily enough, I think there's only one picture of me in it.  Anyway, here's Cassie in it:

Here's another one of Cassie- I think this one is from my first college photo class.  I'm pretty sure the assignment was portraits.  And I think she has on my spaghetti strapped prom dress, obviously too big for her!  That baseball hat and sunglasses, also mine... I must have let her and Brittany go through my closet and go nuts...

beach babe

I screwed this film up pretty bad, so printing these were a giant pain in the butt, so I never really took the time to make good prints.  But, when I scanned the negs, I was able to get some to look halfway decent.  I've always loved that they have a vintage sort of vibe...

Here are my favorites (it kills me that I cut her foot off in the first one though...)

Cahoon Hollow Beach

Here are a couple pictures taken at Cahoon Hollow Beach in Wellfleet, MA a few years ago...

sparkly

Here's another recent scan... I shot it back in color class, but I never printed it- I only ever saw it on the 35mm contact sheet.  I scanned it just to see it bigger than the little contact print, but then I kinda liked it.  It's cross processed making the blues/cyans of the shadows a bit exaggerated.

Oh, and I like that the snow is sparkly.  :)

night

A couple weeks ago, I scanned over 100 images.
These were shot back in 1999 for Tom Petit's Color Projects class.  I had only ever printed a handful of night images (and only one of the ones below) before I switched projects.

I'm digging these, especially since even though I shot them 11 years ago, they seem new to me since I had only ever seen them on a 35mm contact sheet before I scanned them.

Anyway, I'd love to know what you think! :)

what a doll!

one of my favorites of one of my favorite people, my niece Emily.
I've always thought that she looked like a doll in this picture... can't believe my little munchkin is already 11 years old and has her own cell phone!!!

These images are the newest uploads from my Color Portfolio.
Both are available as prints on fineartamerica.com or redbubble.com

new old image

I shot this back in 1999 during my Color Projects class at NESOP.  It never quite fit into my Color Portfolio, but I've always kinda loved this one.  It's available now on redbubble.com, fineartamerica.com or imagekind.com.

yet another site...

I've just uploaded my beach images to imagekind.com
after seeing how many hits my images are getting on RedBubble.com and fineartamerica.com, I looked into finding a site that gets a bit more traffic... imagekind has apparently been around for a bit, and is now owned by CafePress.
although I realize that I haven't been on redbubble and fineartamerica for that long, hopefully this one will be a bit more successful...

new image available

Okay, so I'm trying to figure out which site might be the best to sell my work through.
I have images available on 3 sites:
deviantArt.com
redbubble.com

I don't know which I'll stick with... opinions, suggestions?

UPDATE 12/30/09: I've decided not to sell through deviantArt.com ... I still love the site, and you can still see my images there though!

In the meantime, here's the newest image available:
